Take Away Light – UL workshop results

project by Dimitra Aloutzanidou, Rocio Gonzalez, Carolina Perez

Urban lighting is closely related to the feeling of security while walking on the street, helping users to find its way home. Our concept started from this need of safety in dark streets and underused areas where going back home late at night could be a dangerous situation. From this point, we thought of a lighting system that could be used on demand: a take away light that would accompany the user and that had to be returned in another light station, following the concept of bicing: a light sharing system were lights are made available for shared use to individuals on a very short term basis.
