Light Painting out of geotagged photos
Artist Philipp Schmitt has composed a brilliant series of images called “Location-Based Light Painting” by creating a custom-built camera flash and smartphone combo that flashed whenever he would pass by a location with a geotagged photo in Flickr or Panoramio. Each light dot on the floor indicates the position where a photo was taken.
For part 2 of his project, he turned the flash on the photographer instead of on the street, in order to “place photographers’ ghosts where they must have stood when shooting their picture”.
