The Treehacker – UL Workshop results

by Pinelopi Pappa, Ioanna Kazelidou and Fernanda Marques

The proposal consists of a construction kit handed out to the public including a wooden base, wooden pieces, electronic equipment and a sensor. By connecting the pieces, each one will have the opportunity to create a unique lightning device, which is then going to be fixed on the trunk or the branches of a tree. Once the structures are finished and put into place, one could still develop their form by adding more pieces and possibly connecting the devices between them. In addition to physically, “…” is going to interact digitally, as well, through a proximity sensor. So, when one approaches the tree, the luminaire will either brighten up or darken randomly, so that the change cannot be predicted.
